Ampcontrol Platform

The Ampcontrol Platform is an AI-driven charging and energy management system designed to orchestrate electric vehicle fleet operations alongside on-site microgrid assets. Operating as a cloud-based Charge Point Management System (CPMS), Ampcontrol ingests data via standard protocols like OCPP 1.6J and 2.0.1 while directly connecting to Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), solar PV generation, and building energy meters. The software automates daily depot workflows, monitors equipment health, prevents grid bottlenecks, and minimizes overall energy expenses by continuously balancing vehicle charging demands with total site power availability.

Ampcontrol utilizes cloud-based Dynamic Load Management (DLM) to allocate power in real time across chargers while continually factoring in solar generation, battery storage capacity, and building electricity consumption. By monitoring live meter data from building loads and microgrid assets, the platform automatically adjusts EV charging speeds to maximize solar self-consumption, coordinate BESS charging and discharging cycles, and shift power consumption away from expensive peak tariff periods. This comprehensive energy orchestration prevents circuit breaker trips and eliminates costly demand charges without sacrificing vehicle readiness.

AmpEdge is Ampcontrol's on-site energy management controller deployed directly at charging locations to execute real-time microgrid control logic. The local controller communicates directly with BESS units, solar inverters, building meters, and EV chargers via protocols like Modbus TCP/IP and MQTT to perform millisecond-level power balancing and prevent grid export. Additionally, AmpEdge guarantees site operational continuity during internet outages by enforcing local Static Load Management (SLM) and maintaining pre-configured offline fallback modes while locally buffering session telemetry until cloud connectivity is restored.

Ampcontrol features an open REST API, real-time PubSub event streams, and pre-built integrations with major fleet telematics providers including Geotab, Webfleet, Samsara, Volvo, and Scania. The platform's AutoScheduler engine ingests live operational data—such as vehicle State of Charge (SoC), GPS location, arrival times, and target departure requirements—directly from Transport Management Systems (TMS) or route plan uploads. Using this operational context alongside site energy constraints, AutoScheduler automatically generates and updates individualized charging schedules to guarantee that every vehicle is fully charged for its next assignment.

Ampcontrol is a hardware-agnostic software platform tested with over 40 charger manufacturers and 60 models, supporting AC Level 2 charging, DC Fast Charging (CCS1 and CCS2), and high-power Megawatt Charging Systems (MCS). The system natively interfaces with diverse microgrid hardware, including BESS controllers, solar inverters, and building meters. For access control and payments, Ampcontrol supports RFID tags, VID/MAC authorization, contactless credit card payment terminals (such as Payter and Nayax), and ISO 15118 Plug & Charge message flows.

Ampcontrol enforces enterprise-grade security practices, maintaining ISO 27001:2022 certification alongside SOC 2 Type 1 and Type 2 certifications while strictly adhering to EU GDPR requirements. User access is managed through Keycloak-based Single Sign-On (SSO) supporting OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML 2.0, enabling seamless integration with identity providers like Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace, and Okta. All platform data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2+ (including mTLS profile 3 for OCPP connections), data at rest is secured via AES-256 encryption, and system infrastructure operates within isolated Kubernetes clusters and private VPC environments.
