Erlangen, August 21st, 2026 — Ampcontrol's charging and energy management platform has been officially certified for OCPP 2.0.1 by the Open Charge Alliance (OCA). The certification follows independent conformance testing at DEKRA and is listed in the OCA's public register of certified products under certificate number OCA.0201.0179.CSMS.
Any vendor can put "OCPP 2.0.1 compatible" on a datasheet. Certification is the only way for a buyer to verify that a claim holds — the OCA's program tests an implementation against the same test cases at accredited, independent laboratories, and the result is a signed certificate that anyone can verify on the OCA website.
That distinction is not academic. In depot and fleet projects, the gap between "supports OCPP" and "implements OCPP correctly" is where commissioning delays, silently rejected charging profiles, and failed firmware campaigns come from. Certification closes part of that gap before hardware ever arrives on site.
Freedom of hardware choice. Certified conformance on both sides of the connection is what makes it realistic to mix charger vendors across a portfolio — and to change vendors later without changing software.
Faster procurement and compliance. OCPP 2.0.1 certification is increasingly a hard requirement in public tenders, utility programs, and grant-funded infrastructure. Our certificate can be referenced directly in RFPs and funding applications.
Verified smart charging and security. [If applicable:] Certification of the Smart Charging and Advanced Security profiles confirms that load management commands, charging profiles, and TLS-based secure communication behave exactly as the specification defines — the foundation for the site-level power management our customers depend on.
Readiness for ISO 15118 and Plug & Charge. OCPP 2.0.1 is the transport layer for Plug & Charge and for the advanced smart charging capabilities that heavy-duty and depot charging increasingly require.
"OCPP is the backbone of every project we deliver, and 'compliant' has never been a strong enough word for what our customers need. Independent certification means our customers no longer have to take our word for it — an accredited lab has verified that our implementation does what the specification says, message by message. For fleet operators standardising across dozens of sites and multiple hardware vendors, that's the difference between a platform decision and a bet."
