Challenges
On average, South Africa has one power outage per day. These outages can last from minutes to several hours. To work through outages, Aeversa had to install backup power and monitor the charging operation in real time.
South Africa has a short history of electric trucks and charging stations. Most brands have never been deployed in South Africa, and certainly not for fleets. To maximize their options on vehicles and chargers, Aeversa required software that is compatible and compliant with worldwide brands.
Aeversa is the first contact for customers. To streamline their customer support operations, Aeversa wanted to be fully independent from a charging management software support team. Aeversa needed software that was intuitive and easy to use.
Solution
Using Ampcontrol's dashboard, Aeversa can monitor power outages and their impact on the active charging sessions of trucks. Aeversa's battery energy storage systems will automatically extend the charging sessions. In addition, Aerversa can schedule demand response (grid signals) through Ampcontrol's API to react dynamically to predicted outages.

Ampcontrol ran its test scripts pre-commissioning to ensure compatibility.
